How to improve the efficiency of your air conditioning system
If it isn’t being properly cared for, your air conditioning system could be wasting a lot of energy and even suffer regular breakdowns. Below, are some tips on improving the overall efficiency of your air conditioning, saving energy and therefore money all the while having a lesser impact on the environment!
Get regular servicing and maintenance
Even the highest quality systems and installations can have issues after years of regular use without maintenance – by identifying and fixing any issue as soon as possible, you can save both energy and money in the long run.
Schedule your yearly air conditioning maintenance to ensure it’s running at its peak. Depending on the age and/or size of your system, it may be best to schedule maintenance more frequently, allowing the continued smooth operation of your air conditioning.
Educate anybody who is likely to use your air conditioning
An AC system running at full power 24 hours a day is much more likely to encounter issues early in its lifespan than one that runs only when needed. At Lindsey Group, our team can recommend the correct settings for your system after an installation or maintenance checkup.
As well as this, you can take other precautions to improve the efficiency of your air conditioning system, such as;
- Ensure the room has proper airflow to prevent any build-up of humidity
- Make sure your air conditioning system is only running when needed – don’t leave it on overnight or when nobody is present!
- Close the room’s blinds during the hottest hours of the day to prevent any excessive heat build-up
- Where possible, remember to close windows and doors. Leaving them open can cause your system to work harder, leading to increased electricity consumption as it tries to cool a larger area.
- If your system isn’t designed to handle a significant temperature difference, setting it too low will strain it. To avoid this, only set your internal temperature a few degrees cooler than the outside.
By ensuring everybody in your home or workplace knows how to use your air conditioning system efficiently, you can save energy and ensure your use is sustainable and isn’t damaging the environment!
Upgrade to newer equipment
If your air conditioning equipment is older, it may be time to upgrade some components to something newer and more economical. Our team are able to analyse your system, identify which needs upgrading and give you recommendations on new equipment.
